2027 NTHU Hospital Joint Research Program Announcement

1. Updates for This Year
   1. Adjustments to Partner Institutions and Research Programs

To optimize the overall allocation of university funding and research resources, NTHU will adopt a more focused approach to Hospital Joint Research Program. Accordingly, the participating partner institutions and research programs have been revised for this funding cycle. Applicants are requested to submit proposals in accordance with the information provided in the Program Overview.

1. 2. Increased Funding per Research Project

To enhance the depth of collaborative research and maximize research outcomes, the funding ceiling for individual projects has been increased for this funding cycle. This adjustment will be implemented without increasing the overall program budget; therefore, the total number of funded projects will be adjusted accordingly.

2. Eligibility
   1. Full-time faculty members at the rank of Assistant Professor or above, or full-time research personnel at the rank of Assistant Research Fellow or above (excluding personnel affiliated with the College of Semiconductor Research).
   2. Principal investigators (including co-investigators) must not travel abroad for more than three consecutive months during the project year. Those with existing plans for long-term overseas travel are ineligible to serve as principal or co-investigators.
3. Application Limits per PI
   1. VGHUST (Veterans General Hospitals and University System of Taiwan) Joint Research Program: Each PI is limited to one application.
   2. Other Hospital Programs: Each PI may apply for only one program. If a multi-year project has already been approved for the execution year, it is considered one application, and no new applications can be submitted.

5. Application Method
   1. Please upload the project proposal to the system by the deadline. NTHU application path: "Academic Information System" > " Office of R&D Information System" > "System Portal Site" > "Hospital Project Name."
   2. This program requires separate submissions from both institutions. Applicants from both sides must submit their applications independently to their respective institutions simultaneously. Please pay attention to the PI qualifications and procedures during the application process and proceed as required.
6. Other Important Notes
   1. For projects involving human trials, animal trials, infectious disease trials, and gene recombination trials, proof of approval from the relevant committee must be obtained at the time of application. If such proof is not attached at the time of application, it must be obtained and submitted before project execution begins. Project funds can only be used and reimbursed after the supplementary submission is complete.
   2. After the project concludes, please submit the final report according to each hospital program's regulations and participate in the results presentation.
   3. Proposal Format: Applicants must use the 2027 proposal template provided in the attachment. Proposals that do not conform to the prescribed format will be returned.
