2027 National Tsing Hua University- Chang Gung Memorial Hospital Joint Research Program
- Project Period: A maximum of 3 years since 2027/1/1
- Project Type: Each project must be co-hosted by a teacher from National Tsing Hua University with a physician from hospital.
- Individual research project: Apply according to research expertise.
- Integrated Projects: Each sub-project must be jointly led by researchers from both participating institutions. The program shall consist of one main project and three sub-projects.
- Continuation projects:
- Applicants shall submit a proposal for the 2027 continuation project in accordance with the original project objectives and the prescribed proposal format and requirements.
- Continuation applications are limited to one cycle. If the continuation proposal is rejected, reapplication will not be accepted the following year.
- Research Topic: This call for proposals covers interdisciplinary research in areas including molecular medicine, biomedical sciences, bioelectronics, biomedical engineering, bioinformatics, clinical medicine, hospital management, medical ethics, translational medicine, and medical humanities. Project proposals should be oriented toward translating research outcomes into practical clinical applications.
※ To align with Chang Gung Memorial Hospital’s review process, proposals in the following eight areas are excluded from this call: regenerative medicine, exosome research, cell therapy, microbiome therapy, PRP therapy, neuroscience, artificial intelligence (AI) projects, and clinical trial projects.
- Qualifications for Principal Investigator (NTHU):
- Full-time faculty members at the rank of Assistant Professor or above, or full-time research personnel at the rank of Assistant Research Fellow or above (excluding personnel affiliated with the College of Semiconductor Research).
- Principal investigators (including co-investigators) must not travel abroad for more than three consecutive months during the project year. Those with existing plans for long-term overseas travel are ineligible to serve as principal or co-investigators.
- Each investigator may apply for only one hospital collaboration project per execution year. Approved multi-year projects count toward the one-project limit. Please refer to 2027 NTHU Hospital Joint Research Program.
- Funding Guidelines:
- Budget allocations must not include fixed equipment purchases. The principle of budgeting shall comply with the rules of these two institutions.
- The maximum annual funding requested for each project is NT$1.2 million, with each participating institution providing up to NT$600,000 in funding.
- Application Period: From now until August 23, 2026. Late submissions will not be accepted.
- Application Procedure:
- Please upload the project proposal to the system by the deadline. NTHU application path: "Academic Information System" > " Office of R&D Information System" > "System Portal Site" > "Hospital Project Name."
- Proposals must be submitted to both institutions separately. Applicants from each side should follow their respective application guidelines and verify their eligibility.
- Additional Reminders:
- Projects involving human trials, animal experiments, infectious agents, or genetic recombination must include ethical approval documents at the time of application. If such documents are not available at application time, they must be submitted before project execution; funding cannot be accessed until approval is verified.
- Requirements regarding project outcomes shall be handled in accordance with the Guidelines for the Implementation of this Collaborative Research Program.
